Jacob planned a Hawaiian Adventure for our 10th anniversary trip. We went to Kauai which is where we went for our honeymoon. It's our favorite island and I would highly recommend everyone put it on their "bucket list". We rented a house on Poipu Beach which was perfect for the 12 of us. The beach was just across the street, there was a playground for the kids and a little coffee shop for me to get my morning pick-me-up.
Kauai is inhabited by local chickens. They are EVERYwhere. After a long plane ride (which the kiddos did awesome on), first on the agenda was to put bathing suits on, explore and run off some energy - much to the chickens' dismay.
We got to see several Honu (sea turtles) while we were there. Once they get on shore, you are not allowed to get near them so we respected her (his?) space.
We consumed a few Shave Ice (not shaveD) while we were there. Nothing beats a cold treat on a warm beach in January!
